Alkiviadis Avarkiotis | GR
I am an architect and illustrator based in Thessaloniki, Greece. Born in 1995 and grew up in a small seaside town surrounded by lush landscapes. Such an environment shaped my identity and concerns, both as an architect and as an illustrator. After graduating from the School of Architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in 2019, I started working as an architect while experimenting with digital illustrations and murals in my spare time. To me, curiosity is a key quality for any creative individual and that is why I am passionate about new techniques and perspectives and traditional crafts as well.
You can find examples of my work on my Instagram account: @alkiviades_

Together, designers and architects need to become a kind of ecosystem designers. Part of my
vocation is to design supportive solutions that help communities become more self-sustaining
and improve our quality of life. As a doctoral student in architecture, I research in the field of
sustainability pedagogy. Last summer we founded a company around a playful urban
composting system based on sustainability education. This is Compocity!
